The Power of Prayer Unites Us With God

One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying
and never stop or lose hope.
Luke 18:1 (TPT)

How marvelous it is to welcome in the longer-lit days of summer! They give us more energy, permission to be free, and enjoy time with family and friends.  We set up our gardens and barbecues for summer evening festivities and meals, content to watch the brushstrokes of sunset shift from bright yellow and gold to red and violet. What a joy it is to take in these gifted moments and memories with family and friends.

In these longer days of summer, I find I have a desire to pray more, commune more, and spend time more with our God – to thank Him and praise Him for all the glorious moments in every season He creates for us. The power of prayer is like an awakening to one’s soul.

May God’s delightful grace and peace rest upon you.
2 Thessalonians 1:2 (TPT)

I find that when I intentionally take moments out of my daily activities to stop, take a deep breath and pray about a person on my heart or a decision I’m faced with, I feel closer than ever to the essence of God’s love and feel a great sense of peace.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12 NIV

Prayers should not be a checklist of wants. Prayers should not be done with an expectation of how or when we think God will answer our cries, doubts or requests. Intimate and intentional prayer is when we totally trust and surrender our all to God in knowing that He hears our hearts and already knows our desires. All we need to do is truly put our trust in Him and have faith that He will always answer our prayers according to His good purposes.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:26-28 (NIV)

When I carve out time during my day to spend time with God, the more I see His love in all things throughout my daily activities. The more in awe I am of Him and His love for us. I love growing more closely to God for I grow more in peace. The more we extend our hearts of love and trust to Him, His right hand will always be reaching out to us in comfort.

You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11 (NIV)

In the last few months, I have received so many requests for many needed prayers for friends and family members. As I re-read my prayer notes and reflected upon God’s answers, what wondrous outcomes were had, beyond anything one could ever imagine. During this  precious time of extended prayers, mostly in community with some of my beautiful Sisters (whose hearts and souls I lean on as dedicated prayer warriors),  we grew closer to one another, through God’s word.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24 (ESV)

We have seen miracles and healings in peoples’ lives. Amazing Grace and Glory from God beyond anything anyone can humanly imagine!  Miracles and healings that only our God can do in His perfect and beautiful way of love.  Thank you God for hearing my prayers.

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

What a glorious honor to fellowship in prayer with others for others. To pray openly and freely;  To praise God and thank Him throughout our days for His endless love filled with mercy and grace. Wow, our God is greater than any of us can even fathom…And yet, He is real and wants us to know that He knows everything on our hearts, even before we pray.

May I encourage all of us to not give up, even if you are feeling weary in your prayer life. Awaken with the new season and ask God to guide you through His word to Him through your Heart prayers.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid;
do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

This summer, I invite you to join me for a “prayer revival”. Spend time with God. Praise Him. Thank Him. Fellowship with Him. Read His word. Ask Him to join you in all you do. Pray with Him. Pray with Family and Friends.  Big Prayers…little Prayers…all Prayers.

There is nothing too great for our God the Almighty,  “The El Shaddai.”  As it says in Jeremiah 32:27,  "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?"

Our God hears our Prayers!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6 ESV
